Excavation is designed to provide a clean slate for building projects, typically by removing dirt, rocks and debris from the ground, and may involve the use of explosives, heavy equipment and other tools. Depending on the type of excavation you choose, your project might require a mixture of methods. Cole Burton can help advise your demolition contractor on what to expect and what the best method is for your project, from airport runways to bridge construction, to roads.
Bridge Levels 1, 2 & 3
Cole Burton follows guidelines for bridge construction that are strictly enforced. We possess the specific skills and our company is certified for each level.
Our Experience spans bridge construction from pre-stressed box beam bridges on capped pile substructures to concrete deck overlays; from single span and continuous concrete slab bridges to multi-span rolled beam bridges on tangent alignment with a consistent bridge width, including structural repair and fatigue retrofits; and lastly from dog-legged prestressed I-girder superstructure, tapered steel superstructure requiring header beams and partial length beams to composite welded plate girder, rolled beam or box girder bridge on curved alignment with curved stringers requiring an analysis that takes into account the stresses developed in the curved longitudinal members due to non-uniform torsion (lateral flange bending).

Asphalt milling is the process of removing some of the existing pavement surface and restore with a uniform texture. CBC adds stabilizing agents such as lime or cement turning unsuitable and unstable materials into structural soil and base materials. This process of reusing the existing material by utilizing stabilization saves you money and time by reducing the excavation and hauling out of poor soils and hauling in new structural fill or base.
